Dayak associations to hold charity dinner Dec 4
The Dayak Association Miri (DAM) will hold a get-together dinner on Dec 4 at the Eastwood Golf and Country Club starting 6.30pm.
Organising Chairman Martin Entamin said yesterday that the occasion is organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Dayak Iban Association (SADIA), Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Taman Tunku and Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS).
“Our main objective to hold the get-together gathering is to raise funds, proceeds of which will be used for the development and maintenance of the new Dayak cemetery in Lambir,” he said.
Martin appealed to all Dayak-based organisations, corporate bodies and business associates in Miri to fully support the event.
“Your support and cooperation are very important to ensure the success of our function and so we can achieve our objective,” he added.
Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Culture, Dato’ Joseph Salang Gandum will be the Guest of Honour.
The evening’s programme includes performances by Iban recording artistes Andrewson Ngalai and Ricky Andrewson, as well as others under the Andrewson Ngalai Production (ANP) company.
