Over the weekend, our Vice President, Martin Entamin lead a group of speakers and volunteer to organise the various talk and randau in the Betong Division.

SK Lichok Motivation Talk
The SK Lichok Motivation Talk was a great success with more than 115 parents and students turning up. We were informed by the focal point that many more parents were interested to join the session at SK Lichok. However, due to space constraint, the school principal had only invited either the mother or father of the students to join.

We would like to convey our thanks to Dr. John Anthony Brian and Mr. Anthony Banyan for their willingness to present topics on ‘The meaning of Parenting’ and ‘Roles of Parents in Children Education’ respectively.

The presentations was indeed an eye opener to the parents who have turn up for the talk. Our Vice President also presented a topic on Wawasan 2020, which opened the audience perspective and mindset on the reality of issues facing the Iban community today.

The day event was officially close by the District PPD, Mr. Daud Mohammad, who was also Martin’s ex-teacher and colleague.

We have also received feedbacks from the teachers and suggestion to organise a larger scale talk at Rumah Mendas, a 40-door Iban longhouse in Saratok.

SMART Farming
After the closing ceremony at SK Lichok, the group proceed to Martin’s longhouse for tea and at the same time, Dr. John presented a talk on SMART Farming, based on work done by Dr. Ellie Luhat.

Randau Peransang Pelajar at Peligong
About 100 parents and students of Tr. Amit, Peligong attended the evening session. Among those present were Dr. Chermaline Usop who presented ‘Role of Parenting in the New Millenium’ and Dr. John Brian’s ‘The meaning of Parenting’

The evening session was well received with positive feedbacks from the audience.
