Weaving Class - Ngarap Method Part II

The main objective of our weaving class is to maintain, perpetuate and promote greater awareness and skill of our traditional native culture and art amongst members of the local Dayak Communities.

Dayak Association Miri year-end gathering Nov 15

Dayak Association Miri will hold its year-end gathering cum members’ night on Nov 15.

Our Deputy Chief Minister, YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Anak Numpang will grace the event which is scheduled to start at 6.30 pm at the Eastwood Golf and Country Club.

The main objective of the gathering is to foster closer ties among members.

Event Manager, James Joshua Guang said various items have been lined-up for the evening’s programme. Among them are the appointment of new committee members and the launching of the Life Membership Card.

“There will also be cultural performances such as the ngajat and betaboh,” said James. He added that Jabu will also present certificates to those who had completed weaving, betaboh and ngajat courses organised by the association.

The dinner is also open to members of the public. Tickets priced at RM30 each are available at Rumah Dayak Miri, Jalan Merpati or from James at 012-8700067 or 085-435467.

The association will also hold a motivation talk for parents at SK Senadin on Nov 8. Some 300 parents and students from three primary schools are expected to attend.
